Beginner Programs
Our Beginner Programs at Salle de Long Academy are carefully designed to introduce participants of all ages to the exciting world of fencing. Whether you're a child, teenager, or adult, our beginner programs provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone to discover the sport and build a solid foundation. Led by our experienced coaches, participants receive expert instruction in fundamental techniques, footwork, blade work, and safety protocols. Through interactive drills and engaging activities, beginners develop coordination, agility, and an understanding of the strategic aspects of fencing.
As part of our beginner programs, we provide all the necessary equipment to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Participants have access to high-quality fencing gear, including masks, jackets, gloves, and foils. Our team of professionals ensures that the equipment is properly fitted and maintained, giving participants the confidence and comfort needed to focus on their training. We prioritize safety and adhere to strict safety guidelines throughout our beginner programs.

Trial Class
The one-time introduction class is open to new students only.
Age 5+ - Monday through Friday from 5:30 to 6:30 pm.
Age 11+ - Monday through Friday from 5:30 to 6:30 pm.
Teen/Adult - Monday through Friday from 5:30 to 6:30 pm.
The fencing equipment is provided to every student.
The student is responsible for any damage to club equipment.
Fence-For-Fun
Welcome to Fence-For-Fun!
Age Group: Children aged 5 to 10.
Days and Time: Monday through Friday from 5:30 to 6:30 pm.
Recommendations: 2 to 3 classes per week for non-competitive fencers
Weapon: Foil
Equipment: All practice equipment is provided (mask, glove, jacket, underarm and chest protectors, and weapon). The student is responsible for any damage to club equipment.
Curriculum: Warm-up, footwork drills, group lessons, and bouting training (Fridays).
Requirements: Annual SDL and USA Fencing Access Membership (as per insurance liability purposes)
Beginner Foil
Welcome, youth and teens!
Age Group: 11+
Days and Time: Monday through Friday from 5:30 to 6:30 pm.
